The idea of Botanical Photostock was born from a long love affair with plants and the realization that the many slides used for lectures may be useful for other people's specific horticultural needs. My primary business, Windy Hill Plant Farm, has supplied the metropolitan Washington DC area with cutting edge plants for 20 years. Recognition for our ability to offer unusual plants has been featured in The Washington Post and The Washingtonian Magazine.

The intermingling of growing plants and capturing the process with photography seems natural, a logical conclusion also reached by famous gardeners such as Gertrude Jekyll, Ellen Willmott, and Valerie Finnis.

Please visit my sister website, www.windyhill.net, for an additional peek at recent photos and weekly_articles, many worded to accompany slides that visually highlight my text. Weekly articles are archived over a period of one year and others are available as this website highlights a few images that can be considered with accompanying articles.

My immersion in the day to day production of special plants lends itself to capturing this special natural beauty and I feel confident that my inner knowledge of seasonal plant activity is evident in my images. I use F5 Nikon bodies with numerous lenses. All are standard transparencies, submitted as originals or digital images scanned for specific needs. Images on this website are watermarked and thumbnails can be e-mailed to you directly for consideration. Feel free to request specific plant images.
